| quote from movie "Elizabethtown".
Kirsten Dunst's character plans out Orlando Bloom's trip home from burying his father in Elizabethtown and gives this direction. She helps him savor life on the journey home. Enjoy every moment, looking backward, look forward, happy, sad, ecstatic. Don't be too eager to jump to the conclusion... but enjoy the journey... learn from the past... look forward to the future... LIVE in the present.
My hope for me and for you all is to enjoy the journey that we are all on in the coming year and years that the Lord grants us...
Happy New Year!!!

| Returned from a great weekend retreat out in western Mass. It was great to spend a weekend praising, hearing God's word, and just living with God's people. Had a chance to help out on worship team by singing ( can't do much with instruments, even hands, because I have no rhythm :) ) I had forgotten how much I loved singing God's word. Even with all this good stuff and many other things that I'll continue to cherish and chew on for awhile, one question resonated with me. What aches your heart?
This question was posed by the speaker to challenge us to think about next steps... I thought about the things that I invest my time, my money, my prayers and I was challenged to come up with any one of them that truly ached my heart... Many of the people and causes I support are because other people I know support them. I'm concerned about a lot of things but is there any set of things that I'd drop everything to attend to?
What I decided to do after this weekend was to really ask God to show me who or what He wants me to ache for... and that He'd equip me to make a difference.
What aches your heart?

| Watched this movie the other day. Not your typical Will Farrell movie. Interesting concept, not bad movie. There is a voice that he hears narrating his life. As the voice says "little did he know...", he is driven to find who the voice is and whether it is to be believed.
The thing that caught my fancy was the question that Farrell's character was asked by Dustin Hoffman.
What is your life? Comedy, Tragedy?
If you were to characterize your own life now, what category would you place it in? Comedy, tragedy, bad sitcom, epic thriller, B movie...
